Bridal Portraits
Did you know?
So originally I grew up and lived in Michigan my whole life. I moved to Texas a year ago in May 2022. Because I am not a native texan they're somethings that are not the same in Texas as they are Michigan, shocker I know. One of those big things is bridal portraits. I had never heard of these until I attended a friends wedding shortly before moving down to this incredible state.
WHat are they?
Because of that I want to take this opportunity today to explain to all of those non southern and non texan people what a bridal portrait is because well not everyone knows what they are. Bridal portraits are photos taken of the bride all dressed up in her wedding dress with her hair and makeup done as well as her veil on. These photos aren't being taken at the wedding but actually weeks ahead of time.
Why?
If you're like me you might be asking why is this done? Well what is done with these portraits is that typically a big print of the photo will be set on the table that holds the guestbook and cards. Its there to show off the beautiful bride, because let's face it, we all know that weddings are all about the bride. This is her day and these portraits help put her front and center. They also cut back on the amount of time needed for portraits after the wedding and before the reception. It creates for a longer more involved session and more beautiful less rushed imagery of just the bride.
Should I do them?
Don't even dare ask that question because my answer will be. Well do you want to feel beautiful, special and have two fun days of wedding photos. If not then your weird because I don't know a single women that doesn't want to feel beautiful and gorgeous on her wedding day and whenever she wears the dress.
Hint HInt
P.s. a bridal session gives you a reason to wear that expensive beautiful dress more than once. Just saying.
